Aleta is an American artist based out of Leipzig, Germany. She works mostly with oil and acrylic paint, as well as papier-mâché. Aleta has always strived to find her own style, by mingling her love of dark colors, dark-electronic/gothic music, masks, faces and themes of science fiction, physics, the fantastic and the macabre onto her canvas giving life to a whole new unreal and before unimagined world of otherworldly characters and landscapes.
Aleta was born in 1972 in Illinois, but her father joined the US Navy shortly afterwards, and she was therefore moved around a lot as a child and young adult.
Aleta exhibits her paintings and prints in galleries across the USA and in Europe. She started exhibiting in Germany, which was where she attended high school and college. Later, she joined the Society of Art of Imagination, which gave her the opportunity to participate in group shows in places such as the HR Giger Museum in Gruyeres, Switzerland in 2006, London, Denmark, Phoenix, AZ, Los Angeles, CA, and New York City.
Aleta was also named one of the “Top Eight Young Artists” in Detroit, MI in 1997 by C-Pop Gallery, comparing her to a “female HR Giger”.
